Attention all Tekken fans! It's time to get excited and have your say in shaping the future of Tekken 8. We're diving into the highly anticipated third season, and the question on everyone's mind is: Who will join the roster?
Building on the success of our Street Fighter 6 poll, where we asked fans about their dream additions for the fourth season, we're now turning our attention to Tekken 8. With the Tekken World Tour Finals taking place in Sweden, my home country, at the end of January, we're on the cusp of some major revelations for the next season. But who are you rooting for?
In curating this poll, I had to make some tough calls. For instance, King II and Armor King II have fully taken over from their predecessors, retaining their unique moves and personalities, so I opted to exclude the original versions. Similarly, characters like Michelle Chang and Forest Law, who were split in the Tekken Tag Tournament games, are listed separately to give them their due.
Violet presented a unique challenge. While he's been a part of the series as both a standalone fighter and an alternate costume, his absence as a named fighter in Tekken 8 led me to include him in the poll. Despite essentially being an alternate costume for Lee Chaolan, Violet's popularity warranted his inclusion.
Despite the franchise's history of not bringing back guest characters, I've included them as separate entries to gauge fan interest. From Gon, who made his debut way back in Tekken 3, to potential newcomers like a Yakuza guest character (a long-shot, but one that fans have been clamoring for), we want to know who you'd like to see return.
For newcomers, I've categorized them into two groups: brand-new Tekken characters and existing Tekken characters who haven't been playable yet. As for guest characters, they're divided into two categories as well: those from franchises that have already appeared in Tekken (Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, Final Fantasy, and The Walking Dead) and those from franchises that haven't made an appearance yet.
Just like our Street Fighter poll, this one is all about creating a full season. That means voting for four characters to make up Season 3.
