Stellaris is a game which has made it on my list of ultimate masterpieces of all time (known as 10/10). It's one of those games that need a lot of thought and planning ahead of time so you can actually beat the game. Some would argue that the story is non existent, i would respond by saying that the story is based on real life itself, the lore about creatures rising from a pre-sapient state to an FTL civilization, the technological development of an empire, it's all impeccably thought out.

Music and sound effects are amazing, Xeno variety is insane but the main point of stellaris is the gameplay.

The gameplay starts very interesting, in fact i realized that i didn't want to stop playing since i was constantly thinking about the progression of the game, researching anomalies, creating star bases, managing colonies, researching new technologies, building a strong armada... All until i reached the mid game.
I had a strong navy and all the neighboring empires didn't want the smoke, so in the first 100 years of gameplay i only had 1 war (offensive, to expand into a pathetic neighbor empire). Then i terraformed barren worlds and toxic planets to increase production. All this babysitting of colonies was pretty boring especially since i didn't have a reason to start any wars. Then, late game i realized i had a much stronger navy than everyone, on par with a neighboring fallen empire which had ring worlds and unobtainable buildings, so i provoked them with a claim and after beating one of their fleet i won the war and researched dark matter technologies.
Late mid game, i learned about crisis events that begin in the late game so i was hyperfocused on building the strongest human supremacist fleet in the galaxy (Its warhammer time). After that i beat the second fallen empire which made me the strongest in the game. For about 50 game years i was collecting resources such as alloys, minerals, energy and strategic resources and maxed out at 300k of each (except the gases motes and crystals).
At the end game, when the crisis faction invaded i already had 2200 fleet capacity with a total fleet power of over 1.6 million and a diplomatic weight of over 300k (Might makes Right). I literally smoked the crisis faction in the first year that they arrived. With an alloy rate of +2500/month and 250k in storage and energy +1500/month, 420k in storage i could've gone further than 2500 fleet cap and perhaps 2 million in power for many game years.

TLDR: Perhaps i was lucky, or a genius and beat the game without breaking a sweat.
However, i realized the unlimited mod potential of this game which only adds to the experience. Stellaris is a must play for everyone and if you manage to beat the game first try, then you know you have a strategist SUN TZU mindset.

IF YOURE A STELLARIS FAN PLAY STARSECTOR IMMEDIATELY.
