Hi all, dying of anxiety over here.
I have a bad problem googling things and reading things on Reddit. I am so nervous about having a blighted ovum. All the articles say oh if you start losing symptoms or have nausea/diarrhea then you could have a blighted ovum, but the only way to find out is an ultrasound (which mine isn’t until Jan 10)
It says if extremely common and even if you have a great 8 week scan you can still have that or a missed miscarriage. I cannot find relief for anything anywhere. Everywhere I read is just horrible stories full of tragic news. I feel like the chances of me having a healthy pregnancy/baby are so low. I feel like I can’t even be excited and all I need to be doing is preparing for the worst. This is my first ever pregnancy and I’m only 6 weeks and 5 days. My breast aren’t as sore anymore and I’m just so concerned.

Don’t be worried. I had nausea and diarrhea really bad at first. My breasts aren’t as sore anymore and just had my scan yesterday and baby is perfectly healthy . All will work out ♥️♥️

I think you need to calm down and stay positive. Get off any triggering topics bc it’s unhealthy. Everyone’s a rando on the internet here but Only your doctor’s advice is valid *hugs*

@quindee,
thank you my boyfriend keeps taking my phone whenever he sees me spiraling down a dark hole so hopefully that will help. ❤️

You have to remember that people are more likely to share bad stories vs good ones. More women have healthy babies than miscarriages. You have no reason to think this is going to end badly! It’s normal for symptoms to fluctuate as your body is adjusting to the hormone level changes. You and baby are fine and baby is cooking just like they should!! The wait is torture but it’s worth it to make sure you’re far enough along to be able to see everything on ultrasound. You got this!!

Nausea is a totally common symptom and definitely doesn't mean something is wrong. Symptoms will come and go, and some women never really get any at all. I agree with the other comments, Google is not your friend!

I had no symptoms except my side was sore and I was constipated for the first like 2-3 months. You're going to have to say no to Dr. Google. Just think of it this way, the cortisol from you stressing yourself out isn't good for you or the baby. So just make sure you're doing all the things necessary like prenatal vitamins and such. ❤️ I'm sorry you're stressed but no more google... at all.
also, nausea is 100% a normal symptoms of a healthy pregnancy.

@TickTockTi,
ugh I know Dr. Google has really just made things worse. I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder and being off my meds is amplifying everything and every worry. But thank you I really appreciate the response. Just going to try and trust my body will tell me if something is wrong!

@livvyloo97,
I have diagnosed generalized anxiety and I've been on antidepressants before, so I get it. There are some things that are nearly impossible to just stop thinking about. The good news is you've done your research and there's nothing you can do for now. I struggled with infertility for 3 years and only had 1 chemical pregnancy in that time. In the midst of it, I hear every type of situation you can think of. I know someone who has had at least 15 losses because she gets pregnant easily. So I was terrified my whole pregnancy I was going to lose the baby if I even spent 2 seconds thinking about what could happen. It was horrible. I had to purposely stop each thought about what could happen and think about how I'm healthy right now, everything is OK right now, and the baby is doing well right now. He's 3 months old on the 5th 😊

the chances of everything going right are way more in your favour, it’s much much more liking to have a healthy normal pregnancy.
I know it’s scary thinking about all that can go wrong but most of it is out of your control. Stop reading on Reddit and Google. Take care of yourself. January 10th will be here soon.

I thought the same thing..you really don't know until the first ultrasound. I just tried to occupy myself with other things- cleaning/crafting for me. I worked myself up for nothing. As long as you don't have terrible pains/bleeding I wouldn't worry too much.

Biggest suggestion is to stay off the internet, highly suggest to buy the book “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. As a FTM it has helped me stay off the internet. It just sends you in a further anxiety driven rabbit hole. Don’t do it yourself.
I didn’t have any symptoms minus my boobs being sore & then I was a little sick, went away for a few weeks then from 10w-17w I was sick. My first appt was at 9w. So i definitely understand the anxiety & anxious feeling especially being a FTM. But google is the worst thing you can do. I highly suggest that book & to utilize your doctors messaging portal if you can. I just tested positive for Covid yesterday & have sent them about 8 messages with silly questions but that’s what they’re there for!
Hang in there!

The first trimester anxiety is scary. If there is no physical proof of anything being wrong then you should be okay. This goes for all pregnancy related anxieties.
The blighted ovum is also a genetic and often only occurs once and woman rarely have it happen again.
When the anxiety thoughts comes acknowledge it then let it pass rather than lingering. I also use music to calm my mind. I use sleep music on insight timer.
Also talking to someone about your fears to get it out helps. If you are having high anxiety as well talk to your doctor for reassurance that everything is okay.

Feeling the same over here 100%. First ultrasound is in a few days and I’m just so nervous something will be wrong even though I have no reason to believe that baby isn’t anything but perfectly healthy.
The constant anxiety is awful
Stay strong mamas
